A web app that analyzes the source, tone, and logic of a text — and lets you draw the conclusion. Built by 13 young people from the national network of Asociația Grupul Verde.
How it works
Who publishes — historical reputation, editorial transparency, bot vs. human account signals.
Excessive emotional tone, fallacies, absolutist language, headline-content mismatch.
Do the cited sources exist and say what the article claims? Circularity, selective quoting.
Available in Phase 2Astroturfing, inauthentic coordination, statistical manipulation, fabricated expertise.

We're not alone in this mission
VERIDIC's methodology is built on the standards set by the reference organizations in disinformation research at European and global level.
Digital Forensic Research Lab · Atlantic Council, USA
A global reference in analyzing coordinated disinformation campaigns and open-source intelligence (OSINT).
Global open-source investigation network
Image and video verification methodologies — directly applicable to Pillar 3 (source verification).
Pillar 3Institute for Strategic Dialogue · United Kingdom
Research on extremism, disinformation, and manipulation on social networks.
Think tank · Bratislava, Slovakia
Annual reports on disinformation vulnerability in Central Europe — directly relevant to Romania.
European External Action Service (EEAS)
The EU database of documented disinformation cases — a direct data source for Pillar 4 (manipulation).
Pillar 4NATO Centre of Excellence · Riga, Latvia
Research on strategic communication and information warfare.
Reference organizations for the app's methodology — this does not imply an official affiliation or partnership.
Education, not just a verdict
It lacks digital educational infrastructure — citizens trained to recognize the mechanisms of disinformation on their own. That's why every analysis in VERIDIC is also a lesson: not just "what", but why a piece of text raises questions, with resources to go deeper one click away.
Interactive media literacy, with a certificate on completion — real proof of civic competence.
Disinformation-recognition quizzes and challenges, with a leaderboard — learning becomes a team game.
Integrable with school platforms, for teachers who teach critical thinking every day.
Anonymized, pedagogically annotated cases — theory turned into concrete examples.

VERIDIC didn't start as a technical exercise. It started with a question a core group of 13 young people from the Asociația Grupul Verde network asked themselves directly: if our generation grew up with artificial intelligence, why should we only be consumers of it — and not the ones who build it for something that matters?
The answer is the web app you see here. It's not an isolated weekend project, but the first concrete delivery of the AI in Romania program — one of the 9 national programs 2026–2035 of Grupul Verde, built exactly for a generation at risk of using AI without understanding it critically.
The emotion behind the code is simple: Romania is among the EU states most exposed to disinformation, and the best defense isn't censorship — it's a generation that knows what to observe. The 13 didn't build a "lie detector", but a critical-thinking tool — exactly the philosophy it committed to from day one.
The app aligns directly with the Digital Services Act — the first European legal framework treating systemic disinformation as a risk to the public space — and with the EDMO network (European Digital Media Observatory). The same logic Asociația Grupul Verde already applies to its programs — build locally, document transparently, make it replicable — is designed from the start for European funding and partnerships: Erasmus+, Digital Europe Programme, Horizon Europe.

Ten years, not a quarter
VERIDIC is the digital pillar of a broader strategy of Asociația Grupul Verde — not one-off projects, but long-term commitments, with measurable 2035 targets.
Critical capacity in the face of artificial intelligence — a generation that understands, not just uses.

Who built the app
National Program Coordinator
IT Coordinator and Project Manager at Asociația Grupul Verde, where he also serves as Director of Educational Programs. Accredited ANC trainer, certified Cisco Networking Academy instructor, and accredited FPED trainer in AI education, with extensive experience writing and managing European projects (Horizon Europe, the LIFE programme, Erasmus+) and coordinating multi-partner international consortia.
He initiated the „AI in Romania" program as a direct response to the digital educational infrastructure gap identified among young people in Vrancea — and coordinated the core group of 13 young people who turned that need into VERIDIC, the program's first concrete delivery.
Built the analysis pipeline and the integration with the AI reasoning engine.
Joined through Asociația Grupul Verde's Cisco Networking Academy courses.
Gave visual shape to the app's philosophy of "showing, not telling" — from wireframe to interaction.
Joined the team through the network's digital education workshops.
Worked on credibility scoring and alignment with disinformation-research standards.
Started in Code.org and Marty robotics, then moved into the AI literacy program.
Coordinated testing on real content, calibrating the app against over-flagging legitimate opinions.
Came from Grupul Verde's civic activism track, drawn by the project's educational stakes.
